If You Lived Here Key Art and Marketing

If You Lived Here is a beloved WETA series that explores neighborhoods across the DMV through real stories and local perspectives. In 2024, the show underwent a major rebrand following the passing of a former host.

As the Project Lead, I oversaw the new visual identity, from photoshoot direction and photo editing to final key art and digital ads, refreshing the brand while maintaining its welcoming, community-centered spirit.

I built the visual direction around warm, inviting colors inspired by the show’s original logo and the hosts’ approachable energy. Map textures and neighborhood elements from the DMV area anchor the design in the communities featured on the show. A grid referencing floor plans, along with archival home photos and a soft paper texture, adds warmth and depth while helping the hosts stand out in the key art.

Digital Ads

A responsive suite of promotional assets including web banners introducing the rebrand across WETA platforms, large-format transit ads (bus kiosks, metro placements, and bus tails) built from the flexible key art system, and Roku placements designed with bold compositions optimized for clear visibility on TV interfaces.

Before Rebrand

From Seasons 1 to 3, If You Lived Here relied on a straightforward visual style: a photo of the original hosts paired with the logo over a simple gradient. While functional, the design lacked depth and didn’t fully showcase the character or charm of the show.

The rebrand introduced with the new hosts allowed for a more thoughtful and polished visual identity, one that feels contemporary, energetic, and better aligned with the show’s focus on exploring diverse neighborhoods across the DMV.
