Donkey Hodie Promotional Kit
I created this promotional kit for PBS KIDS’ Donkey Hodie in collaboration with Fred Rogers Productions to introduce the new series to PBS stations nationwide. My goal was to design an engaging unboxing experience with a true “wow factor”, something playful, tactile, and memorable. I blended character-driven design with thoughtful packaging and storytelling to bring the whimsical world of Someplace Else to life and immerse recipients in the charm of the show.
Donkey Hodie is a live-action puppet musical series that follows Donkey Hodie and her friends as they inspire preschoolers to dream big, persevere through challenges, and find joy in discovery. Inspired by the beloved characters of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, the series premiered on PBS KIDS in May 2021.

Packaging Design
The box features a magnetic flap that opens and flips into a display, revealing an interior scene inspired by Someplace Else, the land where Donkey Hodie and friends live.
Inside, magnetic bookmarks introduced each character with their traits. A 54-page style guide and sticker set were tucked into a hidden pocket nestled in the illustrated “mountains.”

Style Guide
I designed a 54-page style guide to define the show’s visual identity, color palette, and character usage, complemented by playful sticker sheets for station teams to enjoy.

Distribution and Impact
A total of 275 promotional kits were printed and shipped to PBS stations across the country, creating excitement and engagement for the Donkey Hodie premiere.

Fred Rogers Productions
Over the past four years I’ve worked closely with the Fred Rogers Productions' marketing team to create promotional materials for Donkey Hodie, Alma’s Way, and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, all WETA productions. My work has included designing postcards, brochures, email newsletters, and station kits, each tailored to capture the heart and educational mission of these beloved shows.
Through these projects, I’ve learned how thoughtful design can connect with young audiences and help extend the reach of programs that inspire, teach, and support children, especially those who may not have access to early learning opportunities. Designing for shows that make a positive impact on kids’ lives is one of the most meaningful parts of my work.
