Mar y Valle Restaurant Branding

Mar y Valle is a buffet-style restaurant in downtown Orizaba, Mexico, a vibrant Pueblo Mágico known for its colorful streets and mountain-valley setting. The owner wanted a joyful, colorful brand identity that reflected both the restaurant’s dual concept, hearty breakfasts by day and fresh seafood by afternoon, and the lively personality of Orizaba.

I developed a visual identity inspired by the meaning behind the name Mar y Valle (Sea and Valley). My role included creating a versatile logo system, designing custom illustrations of the restaurant’s most popular dishes, and expanding the brand across menus, promotional materials, signage, and a mural inside the restaurant.

Visual Identity Development

The logo was designed to be flexible and functional: a clean core mark that can stand alone for administrative uses,
paired with an expanded illustrated version for menus, signage, and promotional materials.

The vivid color palette and illustrative elements tie together the dual themes of Mar (Sea) and Valle (Valley),
creating a cohesive identity that feels fresh, cheerful, and distinctly local.

Brand Touchpoints

Social Media

On the digital side, I designed social media graphics
that reinforced the restaurant’s joyful, colorful personality and helped strengthen its presence with locals and
tourists alike.

Mural and In‑Restaurant Experience

Inside the restaurant a large hand-painted mural using the same illustration style further immerses guests in the
Mar y Valle atmosphere, visually tying together the identity across physical and digital spaces.
